Rules that hold every time

  • Nobody legitimate ever needs your recovery phrase. Not support, not a developer, not a verification step.
  • Support does not contact you first. Real support responds to tickets you opened; it does not message you unprompted.
  • Urgency is the tactic. Deadlines, "migrate now", "your wallet is at risk" — pressure exists to stop you checking.
  • Guaranteed returns do not exist. Doubling schemes and fixed daily percentages are the oldest pattern in the category.
  • Type domains yourself. Do not follow links from messages, adverts or search results to anything holding your funds.

Does this tell me definitively whether something is a scam?
No. It identifies the recognised patterns present in what you paste — the tactics that appear again and again in crypto fraud. Absence of patterns is not proof of legitimacy, and we never present it as one.
Is what I paste sent anywhere?
No. This check runs entirely in your browser. The text never leaves your device and nothing is stored or logged.
Someone is asking for my recovery phrase. Is that ever legitimate?
Never, under any circumstances. No support team, no wallet developer, no exchange and no giveaway needs your recovery phrase or private key. Anyone who asks is trying to take your funds, without exception.
What should I do if I already interacted with it?
Check your token approvals immediately and revoke anything you do not recognise. If you entered a recovery phrase anywhere, treat that wallet as permanently compromised: create a new wallet on a clean device and move what remains.
